Kyn is a parenting companion app operated by Kyn Family Technologies Inc., a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada. When you use Kyn, you are agreeing to these terms with Kyn Family Technologies Inc.
Inside Kyn is a companion called Willow. Willow is an AI-powered guide — she draws on trusted Canadian health sources to answer questions and keep parents company, especially during the long overnight hours when support is hard to find.

Nothing Willow says should be taken as medical advice. If you have a health concern about your child, contact your paediatrician, call a nurse line (Canada: 8-1-1), or in an emergency, call 9-1-1.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Kyn. By using Kyn, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Kyn is designed for parents and caregivers of babies and young children in Canada.
Kyn offers a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start your trial. After the trial period, continued access requires a paid monthly subscription at the price shown at the time of purchase.
Willow is powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Her responses are generated based on your messages and a set of trusted Canadian health sources we have provided to her. She does not have access to the internet in general — only specific recall and safety databases when you ask about a product by name.
Willow's responses reflect the information available in her trusted sources at the time they were added. Health guidance can change. Always verify important health information with a qualified healthcare provider.
AI systems can make mistakes. Willow may occasionally produce information that is incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. We work to minimise this, but we cannot guarantee that every response will be accurate.
Your conversations with Willow are stored securely and used to provide continuity across sessions — so Willow can pick up where you left off. We do not sell your conversation data. We do not use your conversations to train AI models without your explicit consent.
You can request deletion of your conversation history at any time by writing to us at hello@kyn.app.

Kyn is not an emergency service. If you or your child are in immediate danger, call 9-1-1. Willow is designed to recognise emergency language and will direct you to call emergency services — but she cannot call on your behalf, dispatch help, or guarantee a timely response in an emergency.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kyn Family Technologies Inc. is not liable for any harm arising from your reliance on information provided by Willow. This includes but is not limited to: health outcomes, decisions made based on Willow's responses, or any harm resulting from delayed or incorrect information.
Kyn is provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of Willow's responses.
The Kyn name, Willow persona, app design, and all content we have created are owned by Kyn Family Technologies Inc. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
The trusted health sources Willow draws from belong to their respective owners (Canadian Paediatric Society, Health Canada, etc.) and are used in accordance with their terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email or through the app. Continuing to use Kyn after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
